HCM City medical tourism guide released

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and Department of Health on May 23 released a bilingual Medical Tourism Guide with basic information about travel and healthcare in the city.   Ho Chi Minh City Medical Tourism Guide (Source: The guidebook in Vietnamese and English has the names, addresses and phone numbers of 14 health facilities in the city, including the HCM City Heart Institute, Dermato-Venereology Hospital, HCM City Paediatrics Hospital, Odonto-Maxillo-Facial Hospital, Otalaryngology Hospital, University Medical Centre, Traditional Medicine Institute, Tu Du Hospital, Hoan My Hospital, and HCM City International Hospital. Ten thousand copies will be distributed to tourist information and support centres, travel agents, hotels, and hospitals in the city. Hanoi has second pedestrians’ space

A new pedestrian street, Trinh Cong Son street in Nhat Tan ward of Hanoi’s Tay Ho district near the West Lake, was launched in the evening of May 11, offering additional entertainment spaces for locals and visitors.     The street, named after Trinh Cong Son (1939-2001), one of the greatest songwriters of modern Vietnam, is designed to be a venue of arts and street food performance. Its opening was postponed several times for better preparations. Along with the street, the pedestrian space also contains part of Alley 431 Au Co street and Alley 612 Lac Long Quan street. It will open for walkers from 7.30 pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There are 60 kiosks planned for the street but only 15 will be opened for the pilot programme which will last until the end of 2018. Vietnam recommended among top 10 welcoming countries

Vietnam has benefited from political stability, robust economic expansion, relaxing visa requirements and budget living costs, making it into the list of the 10 friendliest destinations in the world, according to InterNations, the world’s largest international community for people who live and work abroad. Vietnam came 9th in a new ranking of the 2018 annual Expat Insider survey conducted by InterNations, jumping three spots against last year. The organization says that the Southeast Asian country is becoming a promising destination for the expat community thanks to robust economic growth, visa exemption policy accompanied with relatively high quality of life. The survey was carried out based on interviews of more than 13,000 expats from 188 countries and territories around the globe. Of the expats questioned, 56% of respondents said they had no difficulties in making friends with locals while 16% expressed their wish to stay on in the country for the rest of their life.
